About James Adger
Where do I start? Hmmmm... I think, at the beginning.
I retired from Stanford University after working in the main Heating, Air conditioning and Electrical distribution plant for 30+ years.Ê I love to travel and play golf.Ê At one time, I thought golf was all I needed.Ê Now, of course, painting is my passion.
I've been painting since 11/2010.Ê I was introduced to painting through an Art Therapy program for treatment of P.T.S.D.Ê (Resulting from my time spent in Vietnam.)Ê I can't tell you how much joy I've found in painting.Ê Once I picked up a brush and put paint to a canvas the light of joy and freedom became my beacon in the storm.Ê A light, I hope, that never goes out.
Ê
Ê
The hours I spend in my little studio just seem to fly away.Ê I wonder how the "Great Artists" were able to complete their work.Ê I know for me, by the time I start one project another one or two ideas are already floating in my head.Ê When I hear others comment about their work needing a few more touches, I laugh.... been there, done that, lol.
Ê
I do most of my work in Acrylics with a dabble in Watercolors.Ê The photographic side of my work came years ago when I had shoe boxes full of pictures with no idea what to do with them.Ê Computers now make it easier to manage.
Ê
I would like to thank those who have helped me along the way.Ê I would never have gotten to this moment without them.Ê So, if you ever wanted to try to paint or draw and didnÕt, just give it a try you may be surprised.
Ê
Thank you for taking the time to view my work.Ê May you find the same joy in looking that I found in the making.Ê One Painting At A time.
